Medicare Prescription Coverage Explained at our January Meeting!

	Mr. Steve Crout, a Palmetto GBA representative, makes a point to a very interested group of Mended Hearts attendees at our January Chapter Meeting.
	Mr. Crout is questioned about new medicare drug benefits by a member of Mended Hearts. Mr. Crout's "loot" (gifts from Mended Hearts) appears on the table at the left.

Mr. Crout explained that anyone can get free help in choosing the best plan for their specific needs by contacting Medicare. This is a big help because there are so many conflicting plans available.

This assistance is available by calling Medicare (free) at 1-800-MEDICARE or 1-800-772-1213. To avoid all the listed "choices" on the telephone, say "agent" after you hear "Here are your choices." You will get a real person to talk to. Palmetto GBAThe information you need to have available for each drug that you take is:

1. Prescription Drug Name (spelled correctly)
2. Generic or Brand?
3. Dosage (e.g., how many milligrams)
4. Frequency (How many taken per MONTH )
5. Your Current Monthly Cost
6. Your Preferred Pharmacy (name and location)
